Besuch beim USDA Das USDA Agricultural Research Center, Crop Systems and Global Change Lab, hat als eines der ersten Institute weltweit Modelle zu Kulturpflanzenentwicklung und Klimaänderung entwickelt. Anhand von 300 Einflussparametern wird modelliert, welche Klimafolgen zu erwarten sind. Ernteprognosen unter verschiedenen Klimaszenarien werden erstellt. Besuch bei Lonnie Thompson TTL stattet dem Byrd Polar Center der Ohio State University einen Besuch ab. Das Center ist führend in der tropischen Gletscherforschung und in spätestens 20 Jahren sollen tropische Gletscher Geschichte sein. Wie nirgendwo sonst, haben sich hier die Auswirkungen der Klimaänderung gezeigt.
